One of the most magnificent Ferraris ever built, the 250 LM was also the beginning of an era in sports-car racing design, with the
engine located behind the driver. The 12-cylinder engine (from the 250 GT) was longitudinally mounted in a tube frame chassis. The
Pininfarina designed, Scaglietti-built body was lean, smooth, and handsome. Debuting at the Paris Motor Show in October of 1963, only
32 examples of the car were built. The 250 LM was raced by about every great driver of the 1960s. The crowning achievement for the car
came in 1965 with an overall victory at the 24 hours of Le Mans at the hands of Jochen Rindt and Masten Gregory.
