I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. As a young child, I would fill in every last bit of blank margin in the church program with some sort of drawing. My parents were not artists, but they can do anything with their hands and are very spatial thinkers. I learned from them how to build and fix things, and making a sketch was a natural part of the process. My brothers and I used to draw for hours together.

My brothers went on to art school and are both accomplished painters. I have never received any formal training outside of junior high school art class.
