As an original portion of the famed Broadmoor Resort, this 1920s era neighborhood in Colorado Springs, Colorado contains a storybook mix of Old World European styles. Phil Pokorny was commissioned to design a residence to meet the needs of a modern family lifestyle, while evoking the vintage architectural character of surrounding homes. “Cottage scaling” using steep pitch roof forms with second floor space tucked under the structure creates a picturesque house that camouflages the overall size of the project.

Interesting shed and gable dormers give light to volume living spaces and to cozy second floor rooms above. Uneven clay roof tiles, stone exterior, and prominent stone and brick chimneys give the house a Cotswold Cottage feeling.
